Well, it’s been just over a month since Red & White Ball 2010 dazzled Toronto for an evening and we have even more event coverage to share.

One of our fearless and fabulous co-chairs, Karen Passmore, did an interview with Radio Humber a few days after the event which you can check out in their archives for April 19th. You can also check out Snap Downtown’s event coverage at their website!

One of the cool things about Red and White Ball as a fundraiser gala, is that it tends to attract a bunch of phenomenally hip, savvy, super cool people who also happen to share their hip, savvy, super coolness on the Internet. Here’s a brief round up of some of the awesome event coverage we’ve seen in the few days since Red and White Ball 2010:

Crystal Gibson (@CrystalGibson for the Twitter folk), Social Media Manager for Glassbox Television – think Bite TV and AUX TV – attended the event on April 16, and managed to get a blog post up about it the very next day. That’s dedication!

With a bunch of photos and a great round-up of some of the event highlights, you should definitely check out her write up. We’re particularly fond of the super Prom 2010 picture and the dancefloor moves. (The DJ was just that good.)

Hip Urban Girl.com (@hipurbangirl) is a hub of all things cool and interesting going on in the city, so we’re pumped that contributor @Sara_Jane shared her experiences at Red & White this year. Red & White Ball 2010 was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have happened without our sponsors, hard working organizing committee, and more importantly, our guests! We raised $18,169 for Rethink Breast Cancer!

One of our favourite parts of the event is the annual prize draw/raffle. Among the prizes this year is a stunning handmade piece by local jewellery designer Megan Dunn. Megan has been designing in the fashion jewellery business for over ten years. She lives and works in Toronto, Ontario, not only designing and creating jewellery but also teaching jewellery design.

She specializes in custom designed fashion and bridal jewellery. Her favourite materials to work with are precious and semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls and pure metals.

Each piece of jewellery is “one of a kind” made by hand with the highest quality of either sterling silver or 14K gold filled metals. Her great sense of colour and attention to detail makes this jewellery irresistible!

One of the things we’re most proud of at Red&White Ball is that you can make it through the evening without a camera and still end up with dozens of great pictures. We have Rosa (White Lioness) at our step and repeat, we have a fanastic photographic surprise when you first arrive, and luckily, we also have the phenomenal Kevin Fung.

Kevin has been with Red & White for the last 3 years, and always ends up providing us with stellar event photos. His photojournalistic style caputures the real feel of the event, and we’re always pumped to see his work. You can see all of his photos at his website. While most of Red & White is spent chatting, posing for pictures, browsing the prizes, and cutting a rug on the dance floor, we also provide several brief pieces of entertainment. We’re glad to have Diana Viselli and her dancers entertaining us this year.

Diana’s choreography has been all over the Toronto art scene within the last year. Fusing styles such as hip hop, contemporary, jazz, theatre, latin, ballroom and african, Diana has created pieces for many major events and productions. City on the Move, hosted by The City of Toronto, Z103’s Summer Rush, Toronto International Dance Day, Factory Theatre’s Lab Cab Carnival, Aba Entertainment Bazaars and Brouhahamedia are just a few. She is very proud to be performing at The Red and White Ball and is dedicating this performance to her grandmother, her number one fan and supporter, who passed away January 15, 2010.
